we believe love is a powerful tool for revolution when used to do more than entertain. while entertaining is number one in storytelling, cinema latte vibes with authors who have the secondary goal to spark change, build empathy, and create healing.

the birth of cinema latte

it all started at usc, where we noticed something crucial was missing. there was a lack of romances tackling modern-day issues faced by everyday women. there were no stories exploring motherhood, classism, race, poverty, ambition. recognizing the lack was not enough. we wanted to create stories starring women who live complex lives and still fall in love. love can be messy and thrive in the conflict of the world.

cinema latte is a space where bookish women desperate for more than just entertainment. here, we tell social justice romances about interracial love that do not shy away from the messiness of our world.
